I know it’s only Tuesday, but after the kids go to bed, I hope you can join me for Girl’s Night Out. Ok, so we might not really be going “out-out,” but we’ll be partying nonetheless over on Twitter!
Starting at 9 p.m. EST, along with my fellow panelists @bonggamom @jimsilver @jodigrundig @jollymom @lisakothari @nycitymama @ohmariana @timetoplay and @thetoyguy, we will be talking party planning—the kiddie kind. Specifically, we’ll be chatting about topics such as party checklists, budget and etiquette.
And if you’re not already following me on Twitter, join me! I’m @jenrab.
Hosted by the fabulous Jyl Johnson Pattee of Mom it Forward, tonight’s GNO is sponsored by THE toy authority, Time to Play Magazine. So, yes, that means toy giveaways are involved—to the tune of a $300 giveaway.
(One of the giveaways is for Battle Strikers, a battling set that I reviewed last fall. Check it out!)
I LOVE parties. I love planning them, I love entertaining and of course, I love attending them, too. But I will be quite honest however, for our family, I’m not big on over-the-top parties for the wee ones. That’s not to say, I don’t love big parties! I personally think big themed parties should be reserved for older kids who know what’s going on.
We have a big family, but I’ve yet to have a big super-sized party for the kid. He’s only two, so he’s got plenty of time. Really, he has no idea what he’s got coming in the years ahead.
Because our extended family is 350 miles away in Va., a portion of our party expenses involve traveling to and from our hometown to celebrate. Our city-dwelling has often restricted our choices and party options, as far as expenses go. Anything I’d want to do is WAY over our budget. Now that we’re headed for the suburbs and will actually have space TO entertain, it’s a brand new ballgame.
What sort of theme can I do for the kid’s third birthday? Legos? Robots? Rock and Roll? oooh, the ideas are endless for this party-loving mama.
Join me tonight for GNO and we can all learn some party ideas from all the party-planning pros.
Follow along on Tweetgrid for tonight’s #gno party on its custom tweetgrid.
To RSVP, be sure to include your name on the link list to follow and be followed by other #gno gals.

If you’re visiting NKT for the first time, welcome! This is my kid product blog that I started almost a year ago. (Wow, already?) When I’m not procrastinating by spending hours at a time on Twitter, I often write about new and notable kid products and services for babies to big kids.
And when I say notable, though I’m not an authority on any of this, I’m passionate about finding and researching innovative products and sharing about them. Sustainable, eco-friendly and techy goods make my heart flutter.
I write features about kid-related adventures and include profiles that may interest you and/or the kids! And oh yeah, NKT isn’t a giveaway blog per se, but I try to giveaway goodies as often as I can.
Thanks for visiting and be sure to join us on Facebook too!
