Every time our silly, but catchy cable tv commercial comes on, it makes me laugh to see the excitement it brings to my kid’s heart. He squeals, claps and then the dancing begins. Above the cuteness of the dancing, it’s the love of music and the rocking out at such an early age that truly brings a smile to my face.

I had the chance to check out That Baby DVD and it was such a hit with the kid. That Baby DVD and CD both feature acoustic cover versions of songs made popular by great artists like Fleetwood Mac, The Pretenders, Bob Marley, 10,000 Maniacs and more. In addition to various eye-catching graphics and cool animations, That Baby DVD showcased other music-loving kids who dance away to the tunes, thus making my kid dance and squeal along.
Recently, on one of our 350-mile road trips to Va., the kid grew tired of sitting in his carseat and began to protest with an ear-shattering protest. I broke out my secret weapon to remedy the issue at hand. Thinking ahead, I popped That Baby DVD into my Macbook for an instance just like that. Immediately, as soon as he heard the sweet tunes, the kid was pacified and entertained for 35 minutes–the entirety of That Baby DVD. Soon after that, he was asleep. Score!
What I love about That Baby DVD is that it’s not only engaging for kids of all ages, but it’s also something that parents can enjoy along with them. Our kid loves older kids, so he enjoyed seeing all the different kids on the DVD—a spectrum of diversity I might add—sing and dance. Counting is also another big deal these days, so we appreciated that we could “learn” to count together during the counting segments. The acoustic lineup of songs on That Baby DVD and CDs are so calming and as I mentioned, a great way to end the day, especially on long road trips!
What makes That Baby DVD and CDs even cooler is that they’re the brainchild of a mom and dad who also appreciate great kid products. From the filming to the editing to the package design (and more) Rob and Lisi Wolf created a fun dvd and cd that’s a huge hit in our home. It’s no surprise that That Baby DVD was named an iParenting Media Award winner as one of the “Greatest Products of 2008.”
