The Hot Mom to Be Handbook Signing Brings Together Glamour, Celebs and Friends

After a day of exploring fabulous toys, last night I had the chance to indulge in an evening of pampering at the Hot Mom to Be Handbook book signing event held at Paul Labrecque Salon and Spa in NYC.  Written by Jessica Denay with a foreword by Trista Sutter, The Hot Mom to Be Handbook is described as being a fun, tongue-in-cheek guide to maintaining style and fabulousness while defying the stereotype that often goes hand in hand with motherhood.

I love getting dressed up just as much as the next girl, but as a mom who embraces working in yoga pants all day and opts for ponytails in lieu of fancy up dos, I could have used this book during my pregnancy as a reminder to keep the balance.

At the event, in between getting my hair blown out and noshing on sweet treats and catching up with some friends, I had the chance to check out a few baby products that were out for display.  Trumpette, Stride Rite, Starbucks, Swaddle Designs were just a few of the sponsors of the event.

While I personally feel more comfortable in my Converse sneakers than I do in my heels; beauty is certainly in the eye of the beholder.  I felt out of my element in the midst of all the uber-glamorous moms, but it was nice to get pampered and socialize with other moms.

In particular, it was interesting to mingle amongst the guests of honor: Jessica Denay and Trista Sutter.  Author and face behind the Hot Moms Club, Denay, is well known for her stylish perspective and glamorous approach to motherhood. Sutter, America’s favorite “Bachelorette” who has gracefully transitioned into motherhood, was onhand to sign Denay’s book as well.

I follow quite a few celebrity moms on Twitter, and Sutter has quite the presence on the social networking site.  As a fellow mom of a 2 year old, my favorite tweets of hers usually include HER favorite moments of the day, which usually entail something involving her 2.5 and 1 year old.  We don’t have much in common—hot mom card included—but the love of our children binds all mothers.
